Special Mentions from Oct-Dec activities:

The annual Walking Stars Night Time Half Marathon starts after sun down, and follows a magical starlit walk past some of Auckland’s finest landmarks to raise vital funds for cancer research and care services across New Zealand. In October Walking Stars held a raffle for the Cancer Society. Two beautiful Barker’s baskets were raffled for a combined total for $562. Read more about Walking Stars.

St Martins School held a School Fiesta Fundraiser to raise money for rebuilding damages, and extending the school hall caused from the 2011 earthquake. They raised $30,000 for the School hall extensions, which is a tremendous effort.  Their school is due to be rebuilt (starting in 2017) and the School Hall is not included in the Government rebuild plan. They’ve very much outgrown it, so are looking at extending this.
