2019 Sponsorship Round-Up

With the hope of warming months and summer on the horizon, fundraising and events move outdoors – there were many school fairs and community fun runs.

Helensville Primary School Ag Day is the annual fundraiser for the school. On a warm spring day, the Barker’s Citrus Lemonade drinks stand was a refreshing hit. Over 2500 people attended and they raised even more money than last year, a very successful Ag Day fundraiser for the school.

The Rawhiti School Bingo Night raised funds to help upgrade the school playground. Barker’s Fruit for Cheese was a perfect accompaniment for their cheese platters on the night. They raised $3500 towards their fundraising goal, congratulations!

The Kaikoura Adventure Race was a joint fundraiser for Kaikoura High School and the godzone team. They tell us that “the Barkers fruit cordial it was a god send on the course and at the finish line with temperatures in the high twenties we went through a lot of water and Barker’s! The funds raised for the Kaikoura High School will go towards an exciting new Localised Curriculum initiative starting in 2020. A program linking our students learning and growth back to Kaikoura’s unique natural environment and community. All students will gain education, experience and life skills in the areas of Outdoor, Tourism and Marine and land-based Sciences. Which will be a great investment we think, so we are thrilled!”

In Rotorua, Dementia Lakes offers services that help people cope with the impact of dementia. They assembled delicious hampers for their Christmas Raffle, which helped to raise funds for the Dementia Lakes UK Study Tour in 2020.

Cashmere Primary School held a school fair to fundraise for equipment and resources to improve their Performing Arts Programme. It was a beautiful day with approximately 1000 people through the gates and it was a hugely successful fundraiser. The brownies and meringue stall looked absolutely delicious! St Joseph’s School Garden Party raised funds for extra classroom resources and IT equipment and the school is delighted with their fundraising result. People purchased tickets to view 4 gardens around Kaikoura and then came back to the church hall for a “High Tea”.  Scones and jam are always so popular! The East Taieri School Fair fundraising objective was for a new and upgraded school building facilities. There were many treats up for grabs at the “Chocolate Wheel” including Barker’s Dessert Sauces. Congratulations on your excellent fundraising result for the children’s bathroom facilities and the new collaborative classroom.

Raising funds for Motor Neurone Disease, the Walk 2D’Feet MND was held at the beginning of summer. There were 13 walks held across NZ and we supported our local Christchurch walk with Barker’s Immunity Syrups. “A number of the walks around NZ were washed out so we counted ourselves lucky with the weather.  We had approximately 600 people there and Christchurch raised thousands of dollars through our raffles, BBQ, registrations and sale of Merchandise. We used your products for the Best Dressed Dog – always hotly contested and as prizes for our raffles.  People always comment how they love receiving your products, so we really do appreciate your support.”
