Fundraising Galore

The first half of 2018 saw a flurry of activity.

School PTA set their fundraising goals; clubs and community organisations made the most of the outdoors; and communities got together to fund raise for organisations and causes. There were galas and fairs, quiz/trivia nights, carnivals and festivals, bike rides and fun runs, raffles and auctions, just to name a few!

Here are some highlights from the first half of the year.

Pukerua Bay School aimed to raise $25,000 to go towards a bike track for the school and community to use. Well, they cracked that goal raising over $28,000! They tell us it was fantastic to see the small community come together for a lovely day of bargains and entertainment. We were absolutely delighted to help them reach their fundraising goal by providing syrups and cordials to make and sell deliciously refreshing cocktails.

Caroline Bay Rock and Hop is becoming a popular event in the classic car scene in NZ. Featuring thousands of cars, caravans, and motorbikes which cruise to local towns and park up in a main gala event in Timaru on the Saturday. We were thrilled to have cars cruise into Geraldine, and the raffle winner was delighted with her Barker’s of Geraldine prize pack.

Roncalli College students held a market day. As part of their school programme they are encouraged to create a small business enterprise and present their concept and make sales at the market day. The team named “Pheeb Enterprise” created pizza rolls and truffles with Barker’s products, the sales proceeds going to charity. It was great to see them promote our products and offer a simple usage suggestion that people could make at home. And how wonderful that charity were able to benefit from their successful sales drive. Wishing these students a very successful future in business, well done.

Tauriko School held a Quiz Night Fundrasier. It was a very successful evening. Lots of teams dressed up and they raised over $8500 for a new outdoor confidence course at the school. Congratulations!
