As we are not able to attend these wonderful fundraising activities ourselves, we love hearing back from the co-ordinators so we can share their great fundraising successes.  Here are just a few highlights:

New Zealand Sweet Adelines has 700 members across 15 choruses in New Zealand. With a convention that ran over 4 days the Sweet Adelines supported YOUNG WOMEN IN HARMONY, their outreach program which funds high school students to belong to choruses and quartets. The fundraiser was very successful, and raised over $3000 to fund 8 high school students to attend the Acapella Harmony event in Auckland in July 2016. The cost of registration for each student is USD$350, so this scholarship is very useful to the young women who are sponsored. For more information about the group visit Sweet Adelines website.

This year we sponsored several groups who hosted Pink Ribbon Breakfasts across the country. Kate McPherson organized a wonderful breakfast in Auckland, Caitlin Richardson and Sophie Dobson raised $500, the Mad Hatters Tea Party hosted more than 50 women and raised $4645, Sheree Wagner sold 100 tickets to the Wild Sisters Pink Ribbon Breakfast and raised $2400, and Aimee Baird raised an astounding $5,392 to support medical grants and research projects to help those with breast cancer in New Zealand and improve their chances of surviving. This year Pink Ribbon Breakfasts raised a total of $861,863 across New Zealand. For more information you can visit the Pink Ribbon Breakfast website.
