Covid-19: Update to our valued customers

We understand this time of confinement puts pressure on all of us. 

In response to some customer feedback, we want fans to understand we continue to operate making decisions with the health, safety and well-being of our staff, customers and community as our highest priority.

As a local food and beverage manufacturer we are continuing production to ensure households have access to food at this difficult time.  As defined by the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment, food manufacturers like us are classified as an essential business and our operation has been registered and approved by Ministry for Primary Industries which included a site visit.

Barker’s is focussed on ensuring our products are made and delivered out to market with best practice.  Careful due diligence has taken place:

  • Barker’s is operating our manufacturing and online shop facility responsibly by implementing many protocols; the most important of which is the practicing of physical distancing, enforcing the wearing of masks and gloves and recording of employees’ temperatures.
  • Most of our support staff are working from home, minimising the number of people working on site or in our offices.
  • Our supply chain has been approved and we confirm our courier provider who is contracted for our online shopping deliveries has a protocol in place for contactless delivery to households.
  • We have received much support from fans for our online shop to remain open, given online shopping deliveries from supermarkets are experiencing excessive demand. In addition to this, some of our products are not easily available in store due to pressures on retail supply chains.
We wish New Zealand much support and strength during this stressful time.
