Special Mentions:

The Canterbury Land Rover Owners Club Inc. celebrated their 50th Birthday by throwing a raffle fundraiser for the All-Stars program- a division of the Mahwah Youth Soccer Program that works with special needs children between the ages of 5 and 18. This program is non-competitive and teaches kids the basic skills of the game in a fun and safe environment. The Canterbury Land Rover Owner Club used 2 Barker’s of Geraldine gift baskets in their raffle, which had an attendance of 250 people and raised close to $4000. For more information read more at the Mahway Youth Soccer website.

The Te Puke Toy Library is a charitable organization run by Toy Librarians and volunteers. Essentially they are a library of toys rather than books. The library believes in helping children in the Te Puke region to reach their full potential and encouraging their futures through play. They offer good quality, safe, affordable and environmentally friendly toys and resources to a wide variety of ethnicities, abilities and backgrounds in the area. In July the Te Puke Toy Library hosted a fundraiser Casino Night, which 100 people attended and raised $4200 to help cover the costs of rent and wages for the year. The Ronald McDonald House Charities NZ is currently the country’s leading family charity, and endeavors to take care of Kiwi families throughout their children’s medical journeys, by providing free accommodation and support services. At the heart of their charity is the simple premise that families are stronger when they’re together. In August, the Ronald McDonald House ran a fundraising dinner with auctions, which was attended by 400 people and raised approximately $98,000. Find out more about Ronald McDonald House.
