By way of background, Barker’s is a family owned business enjoying all the benefits that stable long term ownership brings. Our very flat open structure means that you’re likely to know Michael Barker and the rest of our senior management team just as well as your regular day to day workmates. You’ll bump into us in the staff room, on the shop floor, on the golf course, or at a school sports day. So getting the opportunity to chew the boss's ear, or more likely have some input into how to improve your work environment is always available. Don’t get me wrong though, we’re not a social club, we have an external Board of Directors who drive our commercial performance. Our ongoing success depends on our relentless drive to excel and impress our customers. We want to be the best in the world at what we do, and that’s not easy, but it is fun!

It’s fun because we make some absolutely fantastic products, and we get a real buzz out of the appreciation we get from our customers. Our short run flexible factory, our speed to market, our innovative flavours and packaging formats are all keys to our success. In fact, they have made us the market leader in Baking fillings and toppings in New Zealand and Australia. Leading the market with new innovations is always more fun than trying to play catch-up. The pride in our products and our service drives us forward.

So, is there a role for you? Why not?....with 150 staff on board and ongoing annual growth there are always opportunities for keen, motivated people. Be careful though, people that come to Barker’s often stay a long time.
